It was the evening of the blogger event and the weather had been spotty all day with rain.  I was excited for this because it was my first time working with a big business, a franchise no less.  The event was hosted by Triad McDonald’s and they invited five bloggers to attend, sample the Signature Crafted Menu, and write up a review.  I was also asked by Ashley Carter of Fabellis.com to document the event with my photography.

I got acquainted with the representatives for Triad McDonald’s and watched as the other bloggers rolled in before the event was scheduled to start.  We all greeted each other and spoke a little on ourselves and what kind of content we create on the regular.  The new menu was explained to us by the representatives and were given our options.  I was pretty excited about this.  I’ll be honest, I went almost seven years without eating McDonald’s, so I was interested to see how they were revamping parts of their menu.

The time came to place orders.  We had the option of a burger, buttermilk crispy chicken, or artisan grilled chicken for the base.  We could choose between either a classic sesame seed bun or toasted artisan roll and choose a sandwich topping.  The topping options are the maple bacon dijon, pico guacamole, or the sweet BBQ bacon.  I ordered the maple bacon dijon sandwich with an artisan grilled chicken base and a toasted artisan roll.  The maple bacon dijon topping entails grilled onions, applewood smoked bacon, maple seasoning, white cheddar, lettuce, and creamy dijon sauce. The wait wasn’t long and we all got to know each other more as we waited for our food.

The sandwich was good but I kind of wish that I had swapped the grilled chicken out for the buttermilk crispy chicken patty.  The flavors went well but they kind of fell on the grilled chicken.  They would have popped more with the crispy patty.  I will say this, it was a good way to break my long streak away from Mickey D’s.  As an added fun bonus, we received an eating tool called a “frork”.  It’s a silicone utensil with a pocket that you can stick fries into.  It was made to catch food that might have fallen out of the sandwich while eating.  With the way my fries were set up, it was made more so for cleaning dipping in ketchup or sauce.  I would recommend this menu to McDonald’s lovers that are looking to switch up from the norm.

P.S.  I still want the frozen lemonade to come back this upcoming summer with a raspberry and mango option also!
